Widespread black ice makes roads dangerous

HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON - While driving today is much easier than yesterday, transportation officials are warning that roads across the Hudson Valley are still quite treacherous.

Widespread black ice has formed on many roads making for potentially dangerous driving.

Yesterday's combination of snow, rain and sleet mixed with overnight temperatures in the teens to create the ice.

With temperatures expected to top out in the high 20s today, the icy conditions should persist all day.

While most many roads are fairly clear of snow, DPW crews say they are still working on side streets and many are still covered in snow.
