MT. KISCO - A Mount Kisco camp is teaching girls all about insects, environmental science and plant life.

The exploratory science program at the Westmoreland Sanctuary is just for "smart girls" from the Boys and Girls Club of Northern Westchester.

The girls are immersed in nature in a hands-on way. The girls say they like that they can explore their love of science without having to compete with the other sex.

This is the second year that the Westmoreland Sanctuary has hosted the girls-only camp. Officials say they want to empower the girls and let them know that boys aren't the only ones who can get their hands dirty.
