Westchester split on Astorino announcement to run for governor

Opinions of Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino seem split down party lines. (3/5/14)

WHITE PLAINS - There is a mixed reaction to Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino's announcement to run for governor.

News 12 CeFaan Kim was in Bronxville to gauge the reaction of potential voters.

Some Westchester voters say it is too soon for another campaign. Astorino announced his run just four months after he was re-elected to his second term as county executive.

"I would just think it's too soon," said Cheryl Cipro, of Larchmont. "If he was planning on this, then why even bother running for election."

Some residents said Astorino was being misleading, making residents believe he was going to be around for another four years. 

While some residents said they didn't think Astorino had a chance, others said he would make an excellent governor.
