WHITE PLAINS - More than 50 runners among the 36,000 taking part in the Boston Marathon today were from Westchester.

The runners are from the Westchester Road Runners.

Andrew Kimerling helped train the runners, many of whom were racing to the finish line for the very first time.

A record crowd of 1 million people--twice the usual number--were on hand to cheer the runners on.

"Everyone is coming back and showing they are not afraid to run,” said Kimerling. “Keep it up, don't look back."
