Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino to announce run for governor
WHITE PLAINS - Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino on Wednesday will announce his plans to run for governor.
News 12's Tara Rosenblum was the first to report that Astorino is set to make that announcement in an unusual way, by releasing a video message to his supporters.
The message is expected to detail Astorino's plans to run against fellow Westchester County resident and incumbent Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

Sources say that at the start of the weekend, Astorino informed his staff and close advisors that he will be running on the Republican ticket.
There is still no word if billionaire Donald Trump will run. Trump has threatened to force a Republican primary with Astorino.
