TARRYTOWN - Westchester Executive Rob Astorino says he will be at President Barack Obama's speech tomorrow in Tarrytown after he received an invitation to attend the event today.

Obama will be in Tarrytown to call on Congress to provide more funding for infrastructure projects, such as the new Tappan Zee Bridge, which Astorino helped push through with Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

The Republican gubernatorial candidate played down accusations that he was the victim of a political snub by the White House, saying it doesn't matter what happened and he's honored to be invited. Astorino added it would make sense he would be invited since the president is visiting in a government capacity and he's been a big advocate for the Tappan Zee Bridge.

Westchester County Democratic Chair Reginald Lafayette dismissed the accusations that Astorino was snubbed for being a Republican and says some Democrats are still waiting for invites.

Astorino has turned the invitation snafu around and has invited Obama and Cuomo to discuss Westchester's affordable housing settlement with him. He also says he would give them a tour of Westchester's housing sites. The federal government is withholding millions of dollars in funding because Astorino refuses to change zoning laws. Astorino defends his actions, saying the Department of Housing and Urban Development is "unfairly attacking" him and he wants to show Obama the communities being affected.
