YONKERS - The Westchester County clerk says the number of foreclosures in the county last year was at its highest since 2009.

County Clerk Tim Idoni says there were almost 2,700 foreclosures in 2013.

"The cause of it was a backlog of cases that were held up in 2011 by the chief judge of the state of New York, wanting the banks to get their paperwork in order," he says.

The increase is raising concern among members of the County Board, who were briefed by Idoni on Tuesday.
