Westchester County Airport cancels flights due to Feb. 3 snow

HARRISON - Many Super Bowl fans trying to make it home had their flights canceled Monday at the Westchester County Airport due to the snowstorm. 

One couple from Chicago told News 12 that they were close to boarding a plane twice, but the flights were canceled at the last minute.

Most canceled flights are scheduled to depart on-time Tuesday morning.

In January, about 30 million travelers had their flights canceled or delayed due to winter weather. According to one estimate, weather-related costs to passengers hit $2.5 billion. That includes extra hotel stays, meal costs and lost productivity.
