Weather Update: No snow but arctic cold

YONKERS - The Hudson Valley narrowly missed another snowstorm overnight, but instead is getting socked with arctic air once again.

New 12 Meteorologist Brysen Van Eck say the moisture associated with the storm moved to the north of the region, but arctic cold air rushed in behind the front. Wind gusts up to 30 mph and sustained winds of 20 mph have helped dry the roadways. While there is black ice in some spots, it isn't as widespread as originally predicted.

The winds, however, are making it feel like temperatures are in the single digits in most areas and below zero in others. The wind is expected to die down overnight, but temperatures will remain cold with lows around 12 degrees.

Relief is in sight as temperatures will warm up to the 40s on Friday and into the 50s on Saturday.
