WHITE PLAINS - The venue for Kerry Kennedy's drugged driving trial has been moved from North Castle to the Westchester County Courthouse in White Plains due to size constraints.

William Aronwald, Kerry Kennedy's attorney, says North Castle has no jury box, no room for the jury to deliberate and no separate bathroom facilities for jurors and the public. He added that the spectators would be seated among the jury.

The judge in North Castle granted the move after Kennedy's defense team petitioned the court. The Westchester District Attorney's Office didn't take a position on the location.

In July 2012, the ex-wife of Gov. Andrew Cuomo and the daughter of Robert F. Kennedy was arrested after side-swiping a tractor-trailer on Interstate 684. Kennedy left the scene and later claimed she accidentally took the wrong medication, something her attorney says is not a crime.

The trial was scheduled to begin on Jan. 22, but the Westchester County Courthouse says that a new trial date has yet to be determined.
