Police say they found heroin and several painkillers inside the Greenwood Lake home of Lisa Ferreri and David Santora.

GREENWOOD LAKE - A nurse at an Orange County-owned nursing home has been arrested on charges of drug possession.

Police say they found 34-year-old Lisa Ferreri and her friend, 41-year-old David Santora, in possession of heroin and prescription pills when they visited her home on Mary Cane Road earlier this month. They say they found 11 wax paper envelopes believed to contain heroin, as well as six alprazolam pills and two oxycodone pills. The pair was also allegedly found to be in possession of three hypodermic syringes and needles.

Authorities say Ferreri, who is a county-employed nurse at Valley View Nursing Home in Goshen, and Santora were planning to sell the drugs.

Ferreri is no longer taking care of patients, and the facility's administrator says she is on paid leave while police investigate where she got the prescription pills allegedly found in her home. Both she and Santora are facing several drug charges.
