YONKERS - Snow and sleet made for treacherous road conditions across the Hudson Valley on Wednesday.

Department of Public Works officials urged people to stay off the roads in order to make plowing and salting easier.

Up to 10 inches of snow fell in some parts, accompanied by a layer of freezing rain.

With temperatures just below freezing, News 12 meteorologists warn drivers that roads will continue to be extremely dangerous well into Thursday.
