Teamsters end rally against Tappan Zee Bridge builder

WEST NYACK - The differences between a local Teamsters union and the consortium that is building the new Tappan Zee Bridge have apparently been resolved.

More than a dozen members of Teamster Union Local 445 started protesting around 6 a.m. today in a parking lot on Route 303 in West Nyack, across from the Palisades Mall. Their signs say Tappan Zee Constructors, the group building the new span, is unfair to labor workers.

Members of the union said they were instructed by their leadership not to talk to the media, so the exact details of their complaints were never revealed.

Around 10 a.m., the Teamsters stopped protesting and said the issue had been resolved without further elaboration.
