Tarrytown ramp to close due to Tappan Zee Bridge construction
TARRYTOWN - The entrance ramp to the Tappan Zee Bridge on South Broadway in Tarrytown is slated to close Monday, March 10 and will remain closed throughout the construction of the new span.
Commuters say there were major delays the last time it was shut down in December. Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s spokesperson Brian Conybeare told News 12 that traffic studies prove other factors caused the traffic snarls.
“There were multiple accidents…there was a total of seven accidents on or near the bridge one night,” said Conybeare, who also cited snow as a factor for delays.

The state is taking extra precautions to get its message out by sending 11,000 ramp closure warning post cards to targeted zip codes. Flashing warning signs will also be in place this week.
