Suzanne Nadell-Scaccio, daughter of slain activist Peggy Nadell, hires lawyer
VALLEY COTTAGE - The daughter of a slain Rockland County political activist has hired a prominent criminal attorney to represent her.
Peggy Nadell, 80, was found violently stabbed to death in her Valley Cottage house over the weekend. Her daughter, Suzanne Nadell-Scaccio, found her and called 911. Police have ruled the death homicidal violence. They say there was no sign the house was robbed, leading them to believe it's likely Nadell knew her killer.
Nadell-Scaccio has not publicly commented on her mother's death, but was seen embracing loved ones at her mother's funeral Wednesday morning. Friend Ernie Corvallo says the mother and daughter were close.

Police have refused to discuss whether Nadell-Scaccio is a suspect or person of interest. John Edwards, her lawyer, says she's fully cooperated with the police and only retained him as a lawyer because she felt it necessary to have legal counsel.
