Police say the barrels contained chemicals that tested positive for the drug methamphetamine.

YONKERS - Yonkers police continue searching for the suspects who left four suspicious barrels in an alley behind a house.

Police say the barrels contained chemicals that tested positive for the drug methamphetamine.

Some residents say the barrels discovered in the alley behind the house at 55 Morris St. had been there for quite some time.

News 12 sources say it was Yonkers building inspectors who discovered the suspicious drums and reported them.

More than a dozen residents were evacuated as a precaution and won't be able to go back home until several safety violations that inspectors discovered are fixed.
