TUXEDO - Students returned to class today at George Baker High School in Tuxedo after a classroom ceiling collapsed on Friday.

Four students were in the classroom at the time. Their quick-thinking substitute teacher, Matt Takeuchi, heard a noise in the ceiling and got the students out before the ceiling came crashing down. The high school, middle school and elementary school were all evacuated.

Architects and engineers inspected the building and determined that it was structurally sound, so students were able to return Monday.

The classroom is now blocked off, along with the library below it due to a leak that caused water damage.
