SUFFERN - Some homes in the Squires Gate neighborhood remain condemned two years after Hurricane Irene.

Today marks the two-year anniversary of Irene. During the hurricane, the water rushed through the Squires Gate neighborhood with such force that some homes had their foundations shifted.

Some residents now keep sand bags ready in case of another storm. Most residents, however, say most of the fear is gone and that they have resumed their regular lives.

"Everybody at first wanted to move and get out of here," says Squires Gate resident Jerry Levitus. "Now, they're accepting it.”
