Spring snow coats Hudson Valley roadways

YONKERS - Rain turned to snow and ice overnight making for a slippery commute and plenty of accidents on the roads this morning.

Cold air rushed in behind a rainstorm creating more than an inch of accumulation in some parts of the Hudson Valley.

The wind is gusting up to 20 mph, causing wind chill temperatures in the teens throughout much of the region.

Temperatures are expected to be in the 40s today, so most of the snow will be melted by this evening’s commute.

The slick conditions are being blamed for multiple accidents, including mishaps on the Bronx River and Sprain Brook parkways. Trains and buses are reporting on-time schedules.
