Sleepy Hollow family suffers minor injuries in horse-drawn carriage accident in Georgia

Two women and three children were forced to jump from the carriage after the horse got spooked and ran off down the street, crashing into several cars. (4/16/14)

SAVANNAH, GA - A Sleepy Hollow family riding in a horse-drawn carriage suffered minor injuries after the horse frantically ran through the streets.

The family, whose names haven't been released, were on vacation in Savannah, Ga. Surveillance video shows the spooked horse crashing into several parked cars along six blocks. It finally calmed down with the help of a nearby restaurant, whose employees fed the horse carrots.

The five passengers, two women and three children, jumped from the carriage and only suffered scrapes and bruises. The carriage's driver was ejected from the coach and suffered two broken ankles.

Police say the horse was not injured. They're trying to determine what scared it.
