Simon Zorger, Brooklyn boy with autism, found alive and safe in Kiryas Joel

KIRYAS JOEL - A 10-year-old autistic boy has been reunited with his family after going missing for 15 hours.

Simon Zorger, of Brooklyn, disappeared at about 5 p.m. yesterday from Lizensk Boulevard, a busy street in the Hasidic village of Kiryas Joel. Zorger was on a trip visiting family with his parents.

Zorger was eventually spotted in a wooded area off Mountain Road. Volunteers say they were trying to coax a frightened Zorger out when state police managed to get to him safely.

Witnesses tell News 12 that Zorger appeared disoriented and scared. His clothing was wet and dirty from being in the woods overnight. Officials say other than being frightened, Zorger is OK.
