PEARL RIVER - More than 10,000 people braved the cold weather Sunday to enjoy Pearl River's annual St. Patrick's Day Parade, which was held this year with additional security.

Police say they increased the amount of officers they had along the parade and only emergency and handicap-accessible vehicles were allowed near the parade route. The changes were made after the bombing at the Boston Marathon last year.

Ramapo and Orangetown sent their local police forces. Also on duty were the New York State Police, MTA Police and the State Park Service.
