NEW ROCHELLE - Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) is calling on FEMA to provide more funding to New Rochelle so the town can repair Hudson Park, 15 months after it was damaged by Sandy.
Town officials say they've submitted applications to FEMA to get money for the park three times and have gotten no response. With today being the first day of spring and beach season coming up soon, they say they can't wait any longer.
Schumer visited the park Thursday to survey the damage. The storm brought down railings and damaged the sea wall. He says he plans to get FEMA to stop holding up reimbursing New Rochelle.
