Route 9 reopened in Tarrytown following rollover

TARRYTOWN - An accident shut down Route 9 in Westchester during the middle of the morning commute today.

Police say an SUV hit a pole and rolled over just before 7 a.m., causing the closure of Route 9 in Tarrytown from Sunnyside Lane to Walters Street.

The driver was taken to the hospital with injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening.

Crews from Con Ed were also on the scene for a possible gas leak, but the situation was not considered dangerous.

The accident was cleared at around 7:45 a.m.
