NORTH SALEM - Nine horses were rescued after a barn roof collapsed under the weight of the wet, heavy snow this morning in North Salem.
Fire officials say it happened at around 10 a.m. at 103 Titicus Road.
None of the nine horses inside the barn were injured.
It's the latest in a string of roof collapses across Westchester and the Hudson Valley in the wake of this week's heavy snow.
Fire officials advise residents that the best way to remove snow from their roofs is to remain on the ground and to carefully use a roof shovel.
