ORANGEBURG - The Rockland County Health Department has confirmed that the coyote that attacked an Orangeburg woman and her dog yesterday tested positive for rabies.

Marylou Gardner put up a fight to save her dog from the coyote attack on Tuesday, and today she was sent back to the hospital to be treated for rabies exposure.

Her dog, Jasmine, just needed a rabies booster.

Gardner said she had many rabies injections around her wounds.

She is expected to recover from her injuries.
