Preschoolers from the Bronx release trout into Cross River as part of ‘Trout in the Classroom’ project

The project is part of the "Trout in the Classroom" program which has been around for 12 years. (4/22/14)

CROSS RIVER - A group of preschoolers from the Bronx took a field trip today to Ward Pound Ridge Reservation in Cross River to say goodbye to some aquatic friends.

Eight months ago, the children began raising trout from eggs.

Now the fingerlings can manage on their own, and they were released into the Cross River.
