POMONA - A Rockland County middle school hosted its first naturalization ceremony today.

About 150 immigrants from 38 countries attended Pomona Middle School to be sworn in as U.S. citizens.

Rockland County Clerk Paul Piperato swore in the state's newest residents.

Students in social studies classes at the school were also in attendance to learn about the process and cheer the group on.
