YONKERS - Police say a Virginia man was drunk and on drugs when he crashed a rental moving truck into an overpass on the Saw Mill Parkway Saturday night.

Westchester police say 33-year-old Steve Clayton was drunk and on drugs when he got behind the wheel of the Penske moving truck at around 9 p.m.

Clayton allegedly steered the truck straight into an overpass near the Grant Street exit on the northbound side of the parkway in Pleasantville. Clayton was also unlicensed, police say.

After hitting the overpass, Clayton allegedly fled the scene with another passenger in the truck, scattering debris behind them. Police say the truck and its two occupants were found at the intersection of Manville Road and Guion Street, where Clayton was arrested.

Clayton and his passenger weren't injured and the overpass was not damaged in the crash. Clayton is due in Mount Pleasant court on Feb. 18.
