HILLBURN - Rockland police are trying to figure out how an SUV ended up in the Ramapo River this morning.

The SUV was found below the interchange of the New York State Thruway and I-287 South in Hillburn, but officials did not find any passengers inside.

Police say they'll have to leave the SUV in the river for the next several days or until floodwaters subside.
