Police seek suspect in West Nyack luring incidents involving children

WEST NYACK - Police are looking for a man they say has tried to lure young boys into his car on two separate occasions.

Clarkstown police say a man approached two boys as they rode scooters on Phillips Lane in West Nyack last week, but the incident was only reported to them Wednesday. A mother told authorities a man in a white BMW stopped and questioned her 9-year-old son and his 10-year-old friend.

Police say the luring incident was very similar to one that happened Monday along Marycrest Road in West Nyack, when a suspect with the same description tried to lure a 5-year-old boy into his car.

Neighbors and police say they are on high alert for someone who appears to be threatening children. Anyone with information on these incidents is asked to call Clarkstown police.
