STONY POINT - Police are searching for a suspect wanted in connection with a stabbing Thursday in Stony Point.

Authorities swarmed the area around Wayne Avenue and North Liberty Drive after a man was found stabbed at least once in the stomach in a parking lot outside a private home.

Sources tell News 12 that the man was actually stabbed about a quarter-mile from where he was found, in a subdivision known as Buckberg Estates, and was driven to the other spot by a friend.

The victim, who is in his 20s, was rushed to Nyack Hospital, where he underwent surgery and is recovering.

Residents say police searched a number of homes and properties as they tried to find the suspect, who is believed to be a Hispanic male in his 20s. He was reportedly wearing dark clothing and has long, braided hair.
