MIDDLETOWN - A Middletown man is behind bars after cops say he tried to rob two banks in the city last week.

Police say Marcos Acevedo, 33, entered both the Chase Bank and the Orange County Trust Company on North Street on Friday and handed tellers notes demanding money.

Investigators say he did not get any cash in either case.

Acevedo was arrested after exiting the second bank and is now facing attempted robbery charges.
