PIERMONT - Police are trying to determine the cause of a three-car accident in Piermont that resulted in a rollover and sent two drivers to the hospital.

Police say a driver hit another car early Tuesday on Piermont Avenue near Ferdon Avenue. The second vehicle then hit a parked, unoccupied vehicle. The first vehicle rolled over.

"At this point, it appears to be driver inattention and maybe excessive speed," says Piermont Police Department Chief Michael O'Shea. "But we have an accident investigator who is going to look at this and make a determination after he gets all the facts."

The driver of the vehicle that rolled over and the driver of the second vehicle were hospitalized with minor injuries.

There is no immediate word on whether any tickets were issued.
