STONY POINT - Nassau County police say the body that was found in the Hudson River today is that of alleged Long Island gunman Sang Ho Kim.
Police say the body was noticed by a sailboater just south of the Bear Mountain Bridge at around 8:50 a.m. today. Park police investigated, recovered and brought the body to shore at Iona Island. State police say the body appears to have been in the water for several days.
On Wednesday, Kim allegedly opened fire at a small business on Long Island, killing one man and critically injuring another.

The search for Kim intensified in Putnam County after his car was found abandoned in the area. Police say that Kim left a telephone message with a relative saying that he was going to take his life.
Schools and state parks in Cold Spring had been shut down as a precaution during the height of the search last week.
