SPARKILL - Orangeburg police say that an attempted kidnapping claim from a teenage girl has proved to be false.

After an investigation, police say that a plumber had mistakenly gone to the wrong address on the girl's street.

Police say the plumber was interviewed, and is not suspected of any wrong doing.

However, police want to remind parents about the importance of speaking to their children about not approaching strange vehicles. Children should also be reminded not to open the door of their house if they do not know who the person is.
