GOSHEN - A woman was killed in a fire in Goshen this morning, authorities say.

The fire sparked just after 4 a.m. at 84 Green St. It reached two alarms before it was brought under control.

When first responders entered the home, they found 81-year-old Helen Mills dead inside her bedroom.

Mills was the only one home at the time. Neighbors say Mills' daughter and grandson live in a house in the back, and they woke up to the flames, but it was already too late.

Neighbors say Mills was a lifelong Goshen resident, and was a loving mother and grandmother.
