YONKERS - The owners of a Yonkers smoke shop fell victim to an armed robbery Wednesday, three weeks after its grand opening.

Surveillance video shows the robber in a white mask making his way to Jay's Smoke Shop on McLean Avenue just after 4 p.m.

The owner, Jay, says the robber demanded money and took his and his nephew's cellphones.

"It's quiet," Jay says. "It's not too busy around here, you know. Foot traffic is not that much. So I guess maybe it's an easy target."

The suspect was in the shop for no more than a few minutes and made off with about $300 from the cash register.

Jay says the suspect wore a hooded sweatshirt and baggy sweatpants, and spoke with a Hispanic accent.

No arrests have been made.

Anyone with information can submit an anonymous tip to Yonkers police.
