New Windsor man dies in rollover crash on River Road

NEW WINDSOR - A New Windsor man died after his SUV rolled over and landed in a ditch along River Road last night.

Police say the crash happened around 5 p.m. on the property of the Global Partners Heating Oil Company. They say the first responders were able to extricate Robert Dodge, 65, out of the wreckage, but he later died at St Luke's Cornwall Hospital.

The SUV knocked down a utility pole and wires, which caused power outages to homes in the neighborhood. Electricity has since been restored.

Police have not cited the cause of the accident as of yet.
