NANUET - A Nanuet High School senior was honored last night for his lifelong commitment to the Boy Scouts of America.

Ryan Flynn received Eagle Scout honors last night from Troop 33 at the Pearl River Elks Lodge in Nanuet.

Following in his brothers' footsteps, Ryan spent a decade in the Boy Scouts. He's received 21 merit badges, ranging from swimming and first aid to wilderness survival.

For his special Eagle Scout project, Ryan built and installed two benches and a set of horseshoe pits at the local Elks Lodge. "It's huge. Both of my older brothers have done it. I am very excited. I think it helps me a lot as a person … leadership skills definitely benefitted from this," says Flynn

This fall, Flynn will be attending Manhattan College, where he plans to major in engineering.
