NANUET - A maintenance worker at a Nanuet motel was arraigned Monday in the sexual assault of a female guest.

Police say Hector Ixcopal, 38, used his master key to break into a room Thursday at the Days Inn on Route 59 and sexually assaulted the female guest staying there. Investigators say a group of motel guests heard the woman crying for help and subdued Ixcopal until police arrived.

The victim was taken to Nyack Hospital, where she was treated and released.

Ixcopal faces burglary and first-degree criminal sex act charges. He has since been fired from the motel.
