A box containing dead chickens, animal organs and candles was found in Putnam County

MAHOPAC - More dead animals have been found in the Hudson Valley.

On the heels of similar incidents in New Rochelle, Mount Vernon and Yorktown, the latest gruesome discovery was in Putnam County. A cardboard box was found Sunday afternoon dumped in the parking lot of the Mobil gas station on Route 6 in Mahopac.

Officials with the Putnam County SPCA say the box contained two dead chickens, along with animal organs and candles.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Putnam County SPCA's hotline at (845) 520-6915.
