YONKERS - The Metropolitan Transportation Authority's fare hike went into effect at midnight.

MTA officials say the increase affects the Harlem, Hudson and New Haven lines in Westchester.

They say monthly and weekly Metro-North riders will see an increase of no more than 3.75 percent. Monthly increases will not exceed $15.

However, some one-way fares will see a larger increase as they go up in 25 cent increments.

The MTA says MetroCard's will also see a price bump, with seven-day unlimited cards increasing to $32 and 30-day cards rising to $121.

Officials say it will also cost more for commuters crossing major bridges.

According to the MTA, E-ZPass tolls will be going up as much as 25 cents and cash tolls will jump between about six and nine percent, depending on the crossing.
