MONSEY - Police found a man's body in the woods behind a house in Monsey.

The discovery was made behind the house on West Maple Avenue. Police were contacted by a friend of the 79-year-old homeowner, who said he had not heard from the man in two weeks.

Officers and two K-9s searched the property after no one answered the door. Three hours later, the remains were found in the woods.

No identification has been released, but police believe the body is that of the homeowner. DNA tests will be done to confirm the identity.

Police say this is not a case of foul play.
