Man found dead in plowed-in car on Yonkers Avenue in Westchester

YONKERS - A man was found dead in his plowed-in car in Yonkers Friday.

The victim was found in his car buried under a pile of snow at 760 Yonkers Ave. Police found  the victim, a 59-year-old black man, at around 2:30 p.m.

A spokesperson from the Empress Ambulance Company says the victim was found with his car running and with the car radio on.

A local deli worker who did not want to appear on camera says he noticed the man at around 8 a.m. while shoveling the sidewalk. At first, he thought the man was sleeping, but the worker called police to check on the victim after several hours passed.

Yonkers police won’t know the official cause of death until the medical examiner conducts an autopsy.
