Lonnie Roberts busted for alleged wrong-way DUI in Peekskill

PEEKSKILL - A man accused of drunken driving the wrong way on a busy road is facing charges this morning.

Police in Peekskill say Lonnie Roberts, 62, was driving in the wrong direction on Route 9A Friday night. They say Roberts was also speeding at 90 mph, which is nearly twice the legal limit.

Officers say Roberts only stopped his car after noticing state police traveling north alongside him in the correct lane. They say Roberts was intoxicated with a .09 percent blood alcohol level and placed under arrest for DWI.

Roberts is due back in court at the end of the month to face several charges.
