Kerry Kennedy testifies in drugged-driving trial
WHITE PLAINS - Kerry Kennedy testified today that she accidentally took a sleeping pill before driving and then didn't realize she was driving erratically.
Kennedy told the court today that she did not intend to take Ambien on the morning of July 13, 2012.
She testified that things were going well that morning until she got to the southbound entrance of Interstate 684 in Mount Kisco. Kennedy said her memory went blank until someone knocked on her car window along Route 22 outside of Armonk.
She also testified she has been taking Ambien for years to help her adjust to time zone changes while traveling around the world. Kennedy claims to have mistaken the Ambien for her thyroid medication that morning.
