Reports say Jeffery Pierre allegedly shot the two men because they were trying to steal his car.

MOUNT VERNON - The victim of an attempted carjacking in the Bronx has reportedly pleaded not guilty to murdering two men from Westchester.

The New York Daily News says police arrested and charged Jeffery Pierre, 33, in the shooting deaths of Kaiison Lewis, 23, of New Rochelle and Jermain Johnson, 28, of Mount Vernon, early Friday morning.

The paper reports the shootings happened after the two men tried to steal Pierre's car at gunpoint.

Pierre is being held in police custody without bail.
