WEST NYACK - Hundreds of people attended a fundraiser Thursday to honor a community activist who was murdered in Rockland County more than two months ago.

Peggy Nadell, a Rockland County Democratic Committee leader, was found stabbed to death inside her Valley Cottage home. No one has been arrested for her murder, but police say she likely knew her killer.

Mourners paid tribute to the 80-year-old grandmother by attending the movie, "For A Woman," at the 11th Annual JCC Rockland International Jewish Film Festival.  The film was held at the AMC Theater at the Palisades Center in West Nyack.

Organizers say the film festival was an appropriate way to remember Peggy because she was a lover of the arts. Nadell was also an active member of the JCC.
