WOODBURY - An Orange County man was struck and killed by a vehicle driven by his coworker's husband as he walked to work this morning in Woodbury.

Police say Jason Rutkowski, 23, was wearing dark clothing and visibility was low when he was hit as he walked along Route 32 at around 7 a.m.

Rutkowski had parked across the street from Woodbury Common at Central Valley Elementary School and was heading to work at the Guess factory store. He was hit by his coworker Maria Ciampoli's husband, who was also driving her to work.

Rutkowski was taken to St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Ciampolis did not want to speak on camera, but they're cooperating with police as the investigation continues.
